Marien Jansen (25) worked in healthcare for years, where he saw daily how deep pressure stimulation could help people manage tension and anxiety. While the weighted Lotgenootje provides peace at home, Marien noticed that the outside world, with all its stimuli, is often where the greatest challenges lie. This led to the idea for the Travel Buddies: a compact companion for your bag or keychain. They allow you to take the familiar comfort of Lotgenootje wherever you go, serving as a small anchor of calm in your daily life.

Why were the Travel Buddies created?

Lotgenootje’s mission is to provide peace and comfort everywhere. Since a 2kg plushie isn't always practical to carry to school, work, or the store, the Travel Buddies were born. Are the Travel Buddies also weighted?

The Travel Buddies are not heavy (not 2kg), but the bag charms do contain special beads in the belly. You can squeeze these for a pleasant tactile moment of relaxation and sensory relief while on the move.
