What is in the cuddly toys that makes them feel heavy?

Each Lotgenootje is filled with small weighted beads evenly distributed over the body. This creates a calming and grounding feeling through deep pressure stimulation.

Are the cuddly toys suitable for children with autism or ADHD?

Yes, absolutely. Many clients use Lotgenootje to support children and adults with autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivity, or anxiety. The deep pressure helps calm the nervous system and promotes emotional regulation.

Are they also suitable for adults?

Absolutely! Adults love Lotgenootje and use it for sleep, relaxation, stress relief, or just a comforting hug at the end of the day.

What makes Lotgenootje different from other weighted cuddly toys?

Our cuddly toys are carefully designed with 2 kg of evenly distributed weight—not just in the belly or paws. This balanced distribution and thoughtful construction ensure an optimal soothing effect. They are also quality-tested and CE-certified.

What ages are the cuddly toys suitable for?

Our cuddly toys are suitable for children aged 3 years and older, but also for teenagers and adults.

Are they safe for children under 3?

No, due to their weight and construction they are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.

Why is there Velcro on the side of the cuddly toy?

This is used during production to add weight to the plush toy. Some customers also add a scented sachet or extra filling.

Is it normal if the cuddly toy's head seems a little sunken?

Yes, that's normal with the new, improved padding and internal structure. This ensures better weight distribution. You can gently reshape the head by pushing and moving it gently.

Are the cuddly toys washable?

They are not suitable for the washing machine. Gently clean your cuddly toy with a damp cloth and a little soap. Avoid soaking or getting it completely wet, to protect the filling.

Can I personalize the cuddly toy or have it embroidered with a name?

We currently don't offer personalization options like names or embroidery. Each Lotgenootje comes exactly as you see it.

Can I add a personal message to my order?

We do not currently offer the option to add a gift card or message.

What payment methods do you accept?

Can I use a discount code?

Yes, but… discount codes cannot be combined with automatic discounts (such as bundles or website promotions). You can only use one code per order.

My code doesn't work, what should I do?

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver within the Netherlands and Belgium.

How quickly will my order be shipped?

We strive for super fast delivery!

  • Orders placed before 8:00 PM on weekdays are usually shipped the same day.
  • Orders placed after 8pm , on weekends or holidays, will be shipped the next business day.

Can I track my order?

Yes! As soon as your package has been shipped, you'll receive an email with a track & trace link .

How long does delivery take?

  • Trunkrs: Usually ships the same evening if shipped in the morning.
  • PostNL: Usually the next working day after shipment.

We always do our best to get your cuddly friend to you as quickly as possible, but delivery times may vary slightly depending on the time of your order and the delivery service.

Can I have my package sent to a collection point?

Yes, but not during checkout. Once you've received the Track & Trace code, you can often change your delivery to a nearby collection point via the delivery service's website.

Can I pick up my cuddly toy myself?

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer an in-person pickup option.

Returns & Refunds

We hope you are happy with your Lotgenootje, but if something is not quite right, we are happy to help you.

Do you offer a 30-day trial?

Yes! If your Lotgenootje isn't quite right for you, you can return it within 30 days. We just ask that it be returned in good condition and in its original packaging.

Can I return it if I've already tried it?

Yes! That's part of the trial period. You can carefully test it and return it if it doesn't feel right.

Received a damaged or incorrect item?

Check your order as soon as it arrives. Is your plush toy damaged, incorrectly delivered, or defective? Send us an email immediately with photos and your order number—we'll resolve it quickly.

How do I register a return?

Send an email to contact@lotgenootje.com and state that you want to register a return. Please include the email address associated with your order.

After approval, you will receive a pre-paid return label from us by email (DHL or PostNL).

Returns without prior notification will not be accepted , so always send an email first.

How are refunds handled?

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll refund the amount to your original payment method within 7 business days . If it's been more than 14 business days , please let us know.

Please note: Sometimes banks or credit card companies take a little longer to process the amount.

Do you do exchanges?

We don't offer direct exchanges. Want something different? Just return your plush toy and place a new order.

Are returned stuffed animals resold?

No, returned stuffed animals are never resold. We thoroughly clean them and happily donate them to someone who will appreciate them.
